Hemlock Essential Oil (Tsuga canadensis)

This essential oil comes from the hemlock tree, indigenous to Canada! Traditionally, the tree's heated twigs were used by aboriginal peoples in steam baths to induce sweating. This was said to relieve the symptoms of conditions like rheumatism, or for coughs and colds. It was also used as a styptic to staunch wounds and for sore muscles. The essential oil can be used to help symptoms related to asthma, bronchitis and other forms of congestion, in the case of coughs and colds, and other traditional uses such as muscle aches and pains. AS with any essential oil, use diluted and check for any contraindications (ie. pregnancy, meditcations, etc).
